Central Virginia Horse Rescue Saves and Educates
Today I would like to honor an awesome non-profit organization known as Central Virginia Horse Rescue, or CVHR. This rescue is a huge part of the equine community in the Commonwealth because it strives to save horses and educate owners. The directors of CVHR all care deeply about horses and want to ensure their safety, health, and happiness.
CVHR is constantly improving, growing, and changing with the needs of the community. With the economic downturn, more and more people are unable to care for the equines they love. People are dispersing their herds, voluntarily surrendering their animals, or even sending them to auction. This organization is helping to save horses in abusive or neglectful homes, auctions, slaughter, animal control seizures, voluntary surrenders, and more.
Not only does CVHR work hard to rescue horses in dire straits, they also provide information to horse owners in the Commonwealth and beyond. Brochures, clinics, and demonstrations are available for owners new and old to learn about proper horse health care.
An organization with such selfless goals deserves recognition, which is why I felt compelled to share information about CVHR with you today. There are so many horses that need loving homes, support, or help. CVHR is one of the organizations that addresses this need and does an excellent job serving the equine community.
